Brian got his start in the glass business from his uncle and cousins who were working at Hub Glass. He left his career in Finance to join the Union and started his apprenticeship as a glazier. Today he works alongside his uncle Randy who is the general manager and has been with Hub Glass for over 30 years, and his cousin Tony who is also a journeyman glazier.

Hub Glass has been a union shop since 1926.
What does it mean to be a union shop?
As a #unionshop, we adhere to strict safety standards which means you can trust us to deliver exceptional results. All of our journeymen glaziers are highly trained and skilled in all aspects of glass and glazing and are OSHA certified.
When you choose a union shop, you are supporting a company that values its workers and contributes positively to the community. Being a #unionshop, it is our primary responsibility to be committed to quality and safety.
Our President Sharon Tankel with lut. Governor Karyn Polito At the girls in trades conference from March 1019. She did a wonderful job speaking in front of an audience of young girls interested in working trades- encouraging them to peruse careers in construction management despite it being a male-dominated field
Originally called Hub Plate Glass, the company started its business in the late 1920s in which half was eventually sold to Malcom Carver in 1931 & was named National Plate Glass. In 1952, after working in the company for about 12 years, George Carver, Malcom’s son purchased the company with his wife, Frances Budd (pictured above). Today, Frances’ children continue the family legacy today and have a team of 20 professional union glaziers who service commercial work in the Boston area. Some work we have done includes the New England Aquarium, retail malls such as the Natick Mall, the Burlington mall, Copley Place, and Providence Place mall to name a few. We also service hospitals and hotels as well as local office and public buildings including Boston Public Library, Fidelity Investments, Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital, the Hyatt and more. Although we specialize in contract jobs, we willingly repair any customer’s mirror, countertop, table or door at competitive prices.
